Professional Experience:
Mr. Worek’s practice concentrates on defending medical malpractice and medical device suits and advising physicians, practice groups and hospitals on healthcare related legal issues including bioethics, procedures, protocols, end of life issues and risk management. He also defends suits brought by residents of nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities. Mr. Worek also defends against equal protection and civil rights actions brought by prisoners receiving medical care.
Mr. Worek has extensive trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Worek has made several appearances on Law Journal Television discussing medical malpractice issues. He also participates in case resolution through mediation with Health Care Resolutions and acts as a Judge Pro Tempore in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Worek lectures and has written on medical malpractice Reform and also on attorney ethics.
From 2006 through 2009, Mr. Worek was recognized by the publisher of the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers magazine as being among the top 5 percent of practitioners in his practice specialty within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Worek currently serves as an assistant National Legal Officer for Civil Air Patrol, an auxilliary of the United States Air Force and is a licensed pilot.
