Professional Experience:
Paula Koczan, who is also a Registered Nurse, has extensive trial experience in state and federal court defending healthcare providers in medical malpractice, licensure and Medicare fraud actions. She also handles medical product liability and toxic tort actions. Over the course of her career, Ms. Koczan has handled hundreds of medical malpractice actions in 15 counties in western Pennsylvania. Her clients have included HMOs, physicians, advanced practice nurses andlor physician groups and their employees in every specialty of medicine. She is the chair of the Firm's Medical Professional Liability Group and the partner in charge of the Pittsburgh office.
Ms. Koczan has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Medical Malpractice Law annually since 2008. In 2010 and 2011, Ms. Koczan was recognized by the publisher of the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers magazine as being among the top 5 percent of practitioners in her practice specialty within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
