Professional Experience:
Jeffrey D. Newby began his legal career as a public defender from 1985 through 1987. After entering private practice, he began defending New Jersey employers in workers' compensation and general liability matters. He is the New Jersey Managing Partner for the Firm. Mr. Newby was named as a Certified Workers' Compensation Law Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Mr. Newby is a former member of the Executive Committee for the New Jersey Workers' Compensation Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. In December 2002, Mr. Newby testified before the New Jersey Senate Labor Committee on pending legislation affecting occupational disease claims, dependency benefits and modification of the notice requirements. He also has been selected as a guest lecturer for the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services.
He was selected for inclusion in the 2010 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Workers' Compensation Law, and also is a Fellow of The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers.
In 2009, Mr. Newby was recognized by the publisher of the New Jersey edition of Super Lawyers magazine as being among the top 5 percent of practitioners in his practice specialty within the State of New Jersey.
