Thomas E. Butler, Jr., Joseph Goldberg, Warren L. Simpson, Jr., Patrick J. Stapleton III, Peter J. Weber, Andrew K. Worek and Marc B. Zingarini, partners in the Philadelphia office of Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP, William M. Conwell, partner in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, Richard S. Ranieri, partner in the firm's Newark office, and Carl J. Smith, Jr., partner in the firm's Washington office, have been named among the top lawyers in Pennsylvania by the publisher of Law & Politics magazine.

The attorneys have been honored for their accomplishments, along with other selectees, in the June 2006 issue of Philadelphia magazine and the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers, which is published by Law & Politics magazine.  The selection process began with nominations by their peers and was followed by data verification and independent research into the qualifications of each nominee.  A blue-ribbon panel of attorneys from more than 60 practice areas then reviewed and rated the nominees.  The list of “Super Lawyers” includes the top five percent of attorneys in private practice, as well as attorneys in government and corporate practice, such as prosecutors, in-house counsel and public service lawyers.  Simpson, Stapleton and Zingarini were named in the “Personal Injury Defense:General” category; Conwell, Smith and Weber were named in the “Workers’ Compensation” practice area; Goldberg was named in the "Civil Litigation Defense" category; Butler was named in the "Business Litigation" practice area; and Worek was named in the "Professional Liability:Defense" category.  In addition, Weber was named as one of the Top 100 'Super Lawyers' in Pennsylvania and in Philadelphia.
