October 13, 2008 : Kenneth M. Portner and Michael S. Savett Author Article on Changes to New York's Notice-Prejudice Rule

Kenneth M. Portner and Michael S. Savett, partners in Weber Gallagher's Insurance practice group, co-wrote an article analyzing the recent changes to the late-notice requirements in New York State's Insurance Law.  Under the amended law, insurers handling claims and lawsuits in New York will be required to demonstrate prejudice where their insureds provide untimely notice to the carriers.  In the article, which was published in the October 2008 issue of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society Journal, Mssrs. Portner and Savett highlights the changes and assess the impact of the revisions on insurers and policyholders.
