March 31, 2004 : William M. Conwell Joins Pittsburgh Office

William M. Conwell has joined Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP as a partner in the law firm's Pittsburgh office.  He concentrates his practice exclusively on the representation of employers in workers' compensation matters. 

Mr. Conwell is listed in the 10th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2003-2004) for his work in the field of workers' compensation.  He frequently lectures on workers' compensation issues and has authored the Workers' Compensation chapter in West Group's Employment Law Deskbook for Human Resource Professionals (2001). 

He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section, Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section, American Bar Association Workers' Compensation Section, Defense Research Institute, and Pennsylvania Defense Institute.  Mr. Conwell has served on Council for the Workers' Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association for the past eight years and is Immediate Past Chair of the Section.  He also has served as editor for the Defense Research Institute's Workers' Compensation Committee's publication, Compensation Courier.

A 1981 graduate of Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval Studies and a 1986 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Conwell was a shareholder in the Pittsburgh office of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. before joining Weber Gallagher.
