June 20, 2008 : Michael A. Moroney Joins Weber Gallagher

Michael A. Moroney has joined Weber Gallagher as a partner in the Firm's Newark, New Jersey office.  Mr. Moroney has a solid base of experience litigating a broad range of product liability cases, commercial disputes, insurance defense matters and other civil litigation. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Moroney has lectured on a number of related topics, including collection law, regularly speaks on behalf of the National Business Institute, and has authored a number of manuals used as course materials.  He also authors several articles a year on various product liability and litigation topics, which are distributed directly to selected clients and published in trade journals and magazines.
 
Mr. Moroney is a member of the Defense Research Institute and its Product Liability and Fire & Casualty Loss subcommittees.  He is also a member of the New Jersey Lumber Dealers Association and active in its legislative and lobbying initiatives.

Active in his community, Mr. Moroney is involved with a number of youth organizations, including Little League, U.S. Lacrosse and youth soccer.  He also donates his time to The Church of the Assumption, and is a member of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation.  Mr. Moroney and his family are lifetime members of the United States Tennis Association.

Mr. Moroney has previously served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Raritan Valley Community College, teaching Business Law to undergraduate students. He has also served for a number of years as an Alumni Admissions Representative for Lafayette College, interviewing prospective high school students in the Morristown area seeking admission to Lafayette College, and also serves in a similar capacity for the College of William & Mary.

Prior to joining Weber Gallagher, Mr. Moroney was a partner at the law firm of Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP.

Mr. Moroney is a 1983 graduate of Lafayette College and a 1986 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary.  He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and the District of Columbia and is a member of the New Jersey, District of Columbia and Morris County Bar Associations.
