June 24, 2005 : Peter J. Weber Featured Speaker at PA Bar Association Conference
Peter J. Weber, a founding partner at the law firm of Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP, was a featured speaker at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s 21st Annual Fall Conference on Workers’ Compensation in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 22 and 23, 2005. Mr. Weber concentrates his practice on the representation of employers in workers’ compensation matters. At the Conference, he discussed recent developments in the area of workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Weber has served on the faculty for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s program and manual on Workers’ Compensation Practice and Procedure since 1982. He was a member of the course planning committee when this team won the international Association for Continuing Legal Education’ s 1999 Award of Outstanding Achievement in the Best Program category, for the 1998 edition of this manual and course and its 2000 Award of Professional Excellence for the related CD-ROM. Mr. Weber has also authored the “Annual Survey of Significant Developments in Workers’ Compensation,” which is published in the Pennsylvania Bar Quarterly, and previously co-taught a course in Workers’ Compensation Practice and Procedure at the Graduate Studies Division of the Temple University School of Law. Mr. Weber served on the Committee for Referees’ Rules and Procedures (1988 to date) appointed by the Secretary of Labor and Industry. He is a member of the Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Claim Association, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section, co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section, and the American Bar Association.
