Pro Bono Committee

Weber Gallagher has a very active Pro Bono Committee that donates free legal counsel to a variety of groups and individuals. Through various public legal service agencies, our attorneys have served as pro bono counsel in a variety of ways. They have assisted the elderly and those with disabilities in guardianship matters, assisted the homeless with legal issues, acted as counsel in divorce and custody proceedings, hosted free seminars on relevant legal topics and provided legal advice to charitable groups.

Our pro bono activities include:

  • Providing legal representation to veterans to assist them in the application and appeals process of obtaining disability benefits through the VA.
  • Providing legal writing skills for Wills for Heroes, which assists all active and veteran military personnel in creating living wills for each service member and their spouse.
  • Providing legal services to needy individuals through Philadelphia VIP (Volunteers for the Indigent Program).
  • Partnered with Lackawanna Pro Bono which assists financially disadvantaged individuals and families in civil matters such as landlord/tenant disputes, mortgage foreclosures and education law.
  • Provides complimentary legal services to people whose earnings exceed the Legal Aid threshold but still fall below certain poverty guidelines through Chester County’s Access to Justice Program. Most of Access’s cases involve landlord/tenant disputes and child custody matters.

“Our attorneys are very generous with their time outside of the office in providing pro bono services or actively working in their communities,” said Tracy A. Walsh, Chair of the Pro Bono Committee. “This volunteerism has had a positive direct impact on many people’s lives.”
