Pro Bono

Weber Gallagher is committed to giving back to the community and serving the economically disadvantaged where we live and work. Our attorneys are challenged to dedicate a minimum of 25 hours to pro bono work each year. They represent those with disabilities, elderly and homeless individuals, children, and veterans. Access to legal counsel is of great importance, and it is an integral part of who we are as a firm.

AREAS OF SERVICE

Taking into consideration the skills, passions, and interests of our attorneys, our pro bono program provides a wide range of services including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting the elderly and those with disabilities with guardianship matters
  • Supporting veterans in securing benefits
  • Addressing the gap in legal services for unaccompanied minors
  • Providing free legal advice to charitable groups
  • Supporting the homeless with legal issues
  • Hosting free seminars on relevant legal topics

SUCCESS STORIES

For 30 years Weber Gallagher has been an unwavering advocate for those who cannot independently obtain legal representation because of financial restrictions. Working hand-in-hand with these individuals and organizations we continue to make a meaningful difference in the community, as evidenced by a few of our success stories below:

  • Working with the Veterans Association to assist veterans in the application and appeals process of obtaining disability benefits.
  • Partnering with Lackawanna Pro Bono, which assists financially disadvantaged individuals and families in civil matters such as landlord/tenant disputes, mortgage foreclosures, and education law.
  • Providing legal services through the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program, supporting its efforts to provide quality pro bono legal services and ensure access to justice for low-income Philadelphians.
  • Working with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation and understanding between reserve component service members and their civilian employers, and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
  • Providing Wills for Heroes with legal writing skills to assist active and veteran military personnel with creating living wills to protect themselves and their family.
  • Working with Chester County’s Access to Justice Program to provide complimentary legal services to people whose earnings exceed the legal aid threshold but still fall below certain poverty guidelines.
  • Partnering with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), which is the preeminent U.S.-based nongovernmental organization devoted to protection of unaccompanied and separated children. KIND envisions a world in which every unaccompanied child on the move has access to legal counsel and has their rights and well-being protected as they migrate alone in search of safety.
