Successfully defended an occupational case with the Second Injury where the employee experts found the employee was 100 percent disabled from an orthopedic standpoint, 35 percent from a pulmonary aspect and 25 percent internal disability. The employee only worked for our client for a short time but was demanding $25,000 (Section 20). We offered $7,500, which was rejected. After conferring with the judge, we were able to obtain the $7,500 Section 20 settlement. |
