Timothy W. Stalker, a founding Partner of Stalker, Vogrin, Bracken & Frimet LLP, is joining Weber Gallagher this week as a Partner in the firm’s renamed Insurance/Reinsurance Practice Group. He will be based in the Philadelphia office.
With the addition of Stalker, Weber Gallagher is expanding its insurance practice to include a reinsurance aspect. This new area of practice addresses complex insurance and reinsurance coverage issues, risk assessment and coverage disputes.
Stalker spent more than 30 years in the insurance and reinsurance industry where he has served clients both on an in-house and outside counsel basis. He has spent the last six years co-managing a boutique insurance/reinsurance firm, representing national and international clients, carriers and reinsurers. He concentrates his practice on complex reinsurance and insurance issues, along with professional liability, construction defects, bad faith, public entity liability, excess workers’ compensation and environmental claims, resolving client matters through negotiation, arbitration, mediation and litigation.
“We are pleased to welcome an attorney with Tim’s tremendous depth in both reinsurance and insurance issues and with Tim’s international reputation,” said Paul Fires, Weber Gallagher’s Chair. “Tim has experience in many facets of legal work in the insurance industry including professional liability, bad faith, public entity liability and environmental issues. He deepens the bench of our already strong insurance group and his recognition in the industry is invaluable.”
Stalker’s in-house positions included Vice President of Claims and Legal at Liberty Mutual and Vice President and Counsel for Gerling Global Reinsurance Corporation of America. At Crum & Forster Corporation, he held numerous positions, including Vice President and General Counsel of the company’s environmental operation where he was responsible for supervising counsel and staff throughout the United States. At GRE of America, he was Vice President, Director, Secretary and Acting General Counsel of the United States operations of this London-based insurer and reinsurer.
A frequent lecturer and author for the insurance and reinsurance industry, Stalker is also an ARIAS certified arbitrator and a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
Stalker received his J.D. from New York Law School and his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the Federal District Court for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Supreme Court.
