Workers' Compensation Judge David B. Torrey authored an article in the Spring 2012 Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary titled "Master or Chancellor? The Workers’ Compensation Judge and Adjudicatory Power" in which Jeffrey D. Newby's experience with the Close v. Kordulak Bros., 44 N.J. 589, 599 (1965) opinion was referenced. Mr. Newby says that the opinion remains a “seminal case” on an issue addressed in Judge Torrey's article.
