New Review Contractor for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

04.02.18

As of March 19, 2018 Capitol Bridge assumed the role of workers' compensation review contractor for The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. They replaced Provider Resources, Inc., who ceased operations as the review contractor effective the close of business Friday, March 16, 2018.

Per the webinar presented by CMS and Capitol Bridge, the change in contractor will not alter the current timeframes for development requests or final determinations. Additionally, the Submission Portal and mailing address will remain the same.

Capitol Bridge will continue to offer customer service via telephone and email, with telephone inquiry remaining the preferred method of communication. The customer service line remains for case specific inquiries and you will still need to provide your CMS case control number. All policy questions are still to be directed to the CMS regional office.

Delays in processing are not expected as electronic transfer of the existing cases to Capitol Bridge is already underway and all new cases submitted on or after March 19, 2018 will go directly to them.

No changes to the Medicare Set-Aside user guide are expected and per the webinar, Capitol Bridge will be employing some of the same reviewers as Provider Resources.
