Three Weber Gallagher Attorneys Speaking at National Environmental/Toxic Tort Forum

Weber Gallagher attorneys Richard S. Ranieri and Kenneth M. Portner (Philadelphia) will present “Potato v. Pototo and Tomato v. Tomoto – A Regulatory, Litigation and Insurance Refresher on GMOs,” at the National Forum for Environmental and Toxic Tort Issues conference in Chicago from October 7 to 9. Ranieri will speak and moderate the panel.

The panel will provide an update on the global perception of GMOs and perceived benefits/harms, and we will discuss regulatory, litigation (tort, toxic-tort, product liability and contractual claims) and insurance coverage updates to GMO, herbicide and pesticide issues.

In his legal practice, Ranieri, who is based in the firm’s Warren, NJ, office, handles complex environmental litigation claims. His matters include those involving genetically modified organisms, landfill contamination and hazardous spills. He also represents self-insured entities, insurance companies and third-party administrators in general liability, construction and product liability matters.

Portner, who is based in Philadelphia, represents insurance companies in coverage and bad faith avoidance matters and also in disputes with managing general agents, including in American Arbitration Association proceedings.  He represents lenders/creditors in collection, workout and bankruptcy matters as well. He regularly appears in state and federal courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
