Matthew Laver to Speak on Avoiding Legal Malpractice Claims

Philadelphia, PA – March 16, 2016 – Weber Gallagher attorney Matthew G. Laver will speak on avoiding legal malpractice claims at the Dispute Resolution Institute (DRI)18th Annual Personal Injury Potpourri CLE program on April 12, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  Laver will be one of 21 DRI faculty members of judges, professors and attorneys at the day long program discussing issues including best practices, insurance matters, evidence and avoiding malpractice.

Laver focuses his practice on professional liability and has particular experience in the defense of lawyers. He also handles matters in major litigation areas, including the defense of corporations in product liability actions that involve catastrophic injury or death. In addition, Laver represents restaurants in all aspects of the industry including contracts, leases, alcohol beverage law (licensing and litigation) and business start-up and entity formation.

In 2013, Laver was awarded the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel (PADC) Young Lawyer Award. The award is given annually to a young lawyer who best exemplifies the qualities of professionalism and dedication as defense counsel in the practice of law and in the promotion of the highest ideals of justice in the community. He was also chosen as one of the 2013 Lawyers on the Fast Track by the Legal Intelligencer and is a member of Weber Gallagher’s Diversity Committee.
