Harrison and Davis to Speak at PBI Program on Misclassification of Workers

Philadelphia, May 9, 2016 – Weber Gallagher Partners Peter M. Harrison and Christian A. Davis, will speak at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s program entitled, “Misclassification of Workers,” on July 20 in Philadelphia and by live webcast and simulcast. Harrison is also the course planner. 

The program will explore employee versus independent contractor and the Construction Workplace Misclassification Act. Alfred J. Carlson III, a Partner at Martin Law, will also be part of the faculty.   

In his practice, Harrison defends major healthcare systems, nursing homes, Fortune 500 companies, manufacturers and insurance companies in workers' compensation matters. His clients also include multi-national corporations.  He serves clients in a variety of industries including telecommunications, insurance programs and fraud prosecution. Harrison is the author of "A Guide to Handling of Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation" and "Fraud Prosecution in Workers' Compensation Cases,” and frequently lectures on workers' compensation issues including the scope of defenses, best practices, controlling the cost of litigation, subrogation laws, vocational case law and strategies and fraud prosecution.

Davis, who is Chair of the firm’s Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Group, defends insurance carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators in workers' compensation matters. He is experienced in both the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.  He has received certification from the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law.
