Weber Gallagher Chair Paul Fires Moderates IADC Program on How to Make Preparations for and Recover from Disasters

Philadelphia, PA – February 20, 2017 – Paul M. Fires, the Chair of Weber Gallagher, served as moderator of the program, “In-House and Law Firm Management: Are you Prepared? Weathering a Disaster,” on February 19, at the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) 2017 Midyear Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ.

The program covered business interruptions including weather, fire, natural disaster, cyber theft and other scenarios. The panel reviewed situations each have experienced and discussed the steps to take for preparation and for recovery. 

Fires will also serve as Chair of the 2017 IADC/FDCC Joint Law Firm Management Conference scheduled for April 5 through 7 at the Radisson Blu in Chicago. Programs during the conference include:  The 21st Century Law Firm – Managing People; The 21st Century Law Firm – Managing the Practice; Avoiding Catastrophic Disruption; and Managing the Firm’s Business.

The IADC has served its membership of corporate and insurance defense attorneys and insurance executives since 1920. The group benefits the 2,500 invitation-only members and their clients along with the civil justice system and legal profession. It works in the areas of legal reform and professional development.

Fires is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Practice at Weber Gallagher and counsels some of America’s most prominent and diverse businesses, including insurance companies, on managing workers’ compensation risk.

He has been recognized for these abilities by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers which named him Philadelphia Lawyer of the Year for Workers’ Compensation – Employers, 2014. He has also been listed in Best Lawyers in the area of Workers’ Compensation – Employers every year since 2007. Fires is also active in the community as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and on the Alumni Board of Directors of George Washington University.
