Weber Gallagher Gives Scholarship to Camden High School Graduate

Pennsauken, NJ – June 29, 2017 -   Weber Gallagher awarded its first scholarship through the Camden Schools Foundation last night during a golf tournament and dinner at the Pennsauken Country Club.  The winner was an impressive young woman, Ja’Nayzia Morris, 18, who graduated from Camden High School and will attend Lincoln University in Pennsylvania this fall.  Morris is what people would call an “over comer.”

Morris is the first person in her family to graduate from high school.  She was one of the top 10 graduates in her class and participated in the marching band, track and the highly acclaimed Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble.  At Lincoln, she will be in the marching band, major in African American studies and plans to become a teacher.  “I’m not nervous about college, I’m excited,” she said.

Weber Gallagher was singled out by Jack Tarditi, President of the Camden Schools Foundation, as a firm “that has shown a commitment to the kids from Camden.  We thank them for this.”  He mentioned the firm’s high school interns and involvement with Met East High School.

Weber Gallagher Partner Joseph Borucki, who is on the Foundation Board, presented the scholarship calling Morris “truly amazing. She has had the vision to know that education leads to knowledge and that knowledge is power. She has overcome obstacles that have crushed others, having successfully climbed the educational ranks despite being part of the foster care system. She had the strength, effort and vision to overcome her obstacles.”
