Two Weber Gallagher Lawyers Named to New Jersey Law Journal’s 2020 list of New Jersey Trailblazers

Philadelphia, August 24, 2020 — Two Weber Gallagher lawyers, Jeffrey D. Newby and Kenneth E. Sharperson, were named to New Jersey Law Journal’s 2020 list of “New Jersey Trailblazers,” which is comprised of innovators and thought leaders in the legal industry who have made a significant impact on the practice, policy, and technological advancements in their area of focus.

Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court, Jeffrey Newby is a workers’ compensation attorney who was inducted into the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers in 2010. Since 2018, he has been recognized by Chambers USA as a noted attorney in workers’ compensation matters — one of only 10 attorneys in New Jersey to make the listing. He has also achieved an “AV Preeminent” peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Outside of the courtroom, Jeffrey enjoys giving back to the community as an active member and volunteer with the Jewish Relief Agency, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ronald McDonald House.

Kenneth Sharperson is dedicated to supporting and leading the legal community of New Jersey. After graduating from law school, he began his pursuit to help lead the conversation for increased diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. He was appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) Diversity Committee and served as an active NJSBA Board of Trustee member for six years. He also served on the Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns and was appointed to the position of Chair of the Somerset County District Fee Arbitration Committee.

Outside of the legal profession, Kenneth has made efforts to improve diversity-related issues in his local community. He has served on the Morris Township Parks and Recreation Committee and advocates to improve diversity and inclusion efforts within the local school district.
