Philadelphia, January 11, 2022 — Weber Gallagher proudly names Kenneth E. Sharperson as the firm’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Director.

Kenneth will play an integral role in advising the firm’s senior leadership on all strategic initiatives to ensure that a DEI perspective is always taken into consideration when making important decisions. Leading a team dedicated to implementing and expanding upon Weber Gallagher’s DEI Commitment and Action Plan, Kenneth’s new role is emblematic of the firm’s multifaceted approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“While some may say that innovation is born out of necessity, I think it’s born out of diversity,” said Kenneth E. Sharperson. “For more than 20 years, Weber Gallagher has consistently placed a high priority on diversity, equity, and inclusion, always making sure that diverse points of view are considered. Having the opportunity as a diverse partner to engender a greater level of transformative change, both at the firm and within the legal industry, is a responsibility I welcome with enthusiasm and gratitude.”

Kenneth and his team will focus on numerous internal and external goals and objectives as it relates to DEI, such as enhancing Weber Gallagher’s efforts to recruit, retain, and advance attorneys and business professionals with diverse backgrounds; raising awareness about the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, emphasizing the value that these unique perspectives and experiences offer; hosting substantive educational programming; and more.

“Having a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director is demonstrative of our firm’s steadfast commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment,” said Andrew L. Indeck, chairman of Weber Gallagher. “Kenneth is an authentic, inspirational leader, and he is more than worthy of taking on this important role. Moreover, this will allow us to serve our clients, colleagues, and communities in a whole new way.”

In recognition of excelling in his professional endeavors and exhibiting an unwavering commitment to service, Kenneth was the 2021 recipient of the Garden State Bar Association’s Oliver Randolph Award. Prior to taking on the role of DEI Director, he was Co-Chair of Weber Gallagher’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

Weber Gallagher joined the Law Firm Anti-Racism Alliance (LFAA) as a charter member. The LFAA is a national collaborative effort between nearly 150 law firms, working together to amplify the voices of the communities and individuals oppressed by racism.
