Philadelphia, March 21, 2023 — Throughout the month of February, Weber Gallagher held an essay contest to provide high school students an opportunity to express themselves and be awarded for their efforts while honoring Black History month. Students in the mid-Atlantic region were asked to explain why the right to vote is important to them and all citizens in the United States.

Three winners and an honorable mention were chosen from 20 submissions. The winners wrote outstanding essays that delved into specifics of the importance of voting and what it means for society. The three winners, Hannah Thomas, Ibtihal Gassem, Akayla Morris will receive the top prizes and Allyson Riley, an honorable mention will receive a prize as well.
