Paul M. Fires, Joseph Goldberg, Richard E. Stabinski, Peter J. Weber and Andrew K. Worek, partners in the Philadelphia office of Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP, Lynne Z. Gold-Bikin , partner in the Firm's Norristown office, James R. Hartline, a partner in the Harrisburg office, and Carl J. Smith, Jr., a partner in the Washington office, have been named among the top lawyers in Pennsylvania by the publisher of Law & Politics magazine. Ms. Gold-Bikin was named one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Commonwealth.

The attorneys have been honored for their accomplishments, along with other selectees, in the June 2009 issue of Philadelphia magazine and the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers, which is published by Law & Politics magazine. The selection process began with nominations by their peers and was followed by data verification and independent research into the qualifications of each nominee.  A blue-ribbon panel of attorneys from more than 60 practice areas then reviewed and rated the nominees. The list of “Super Lawyers” includes the top 5 percent of attorneys in private practice, as well as attorneys in government and corporate practice, such as prosecutors, in-house counsel and public service lawyers. Ms. Gold-Bikin was named in the "Family Law" category; Mr. Stabinski was named in the "General Litigation" category; Mssrs. Fires, Smith and Weber were named in the “Workers’ Compensation” practice area; Mr. Goldberg was named in the "Civil Litigation Defense" category; and Mssrs. Hartline and Worek were named in the "Professional Liability:Defense" category.
