Questions about Investment Post Divorce?

09.13.17

When investing our portfolio it is essential not to let emotions be our guide. Buying stock in your favorite restaurant chain or investing in something because it sounds good and someone mentioned it to you over dinner isn't the way to secure your financial life and your retirement. In times of stress and change, particularly in the family, we tend to focus on survival and not always on reason. That's why many investors sell during market declines (locking in loss) and return only after stocks have recovered. Research suggests that these behavioral biases are a key reason why the average investor underperforms in the market. Take a deep breath and look at some facts on investing and saving.

Our panel will include Weber Gallagher Family Law Attorney Carolyn R. Mirabile; a guest speaker from Wells Fargo Advisors First Vice President-Investment Officer David A. Simon; and John Hancock Vice President Jennifer B. Telesca, CIMA, CRPC.
