The firm’s Employment Practices Liability Group specializes in the representation of private and public sector employers and individuals in all aspects of employment-related matters and litigation. Our attorneys represent employers in a full range of employment and third party cases arising under federal and state equal opportunity and anti-discrimination laws in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as in administrative proceedings before the EEOC and state and local agencies. We defend claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, the Delaware Discrimination in Employment Act, Pennsylvania and New Jersey wage and hour laws, 42 U.S.C. Sections 1981, 1983 and 1985, wrongful discharge claims and retaliation, and other employment-related claims involving breach of contract, tortuous interference, defamation, invasion of privacy, breach of fiduciary duty, and infliction of emotional distress.
The Employment Practices Liability Group has experience representing clients in a wide range of industries and business sectors, including but not limited to health care institutions, human services and social services agencies, nursing homes and retirement communities, accounting firms, real estate and property management firms, restaurants and food service organizations, hospitality organizations, manufacturing plants, automobile dealerships, universities and colleges, law firms, and municipalities and officials.
In addition to defending employers in all types of employment matters, the Employment Practices Liability Group provides advice to clients on compliance with employment-related statutes and regulations as well as risk management advice, training and seminars to employers. Our attorneys regularly present seminars to insurance companies and self-insured companies on a wide variety of topics in this area, and they are frequent speakers at professional association sponsored events.
