Grant Hackley focuses his practice on the defense of commercial transportation clients in Pennsylvania and West Virigina. He is dedicated to providing strategic counsel and representation to entities and individuals facing catastrophic claims in both state and federal courts. With an undergraduate degree in physiology & neurobiology, Grant is uniquely capable of evaluating personal injury claims and efficiently guiding cases to resolution. In addition to his jury trial experience, Grant regularly seeks innovative solutions to complex problems, and has been recognized as a Legal Trailblazer by The Legal Intelligencer and as a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
During law school, Grant interned for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Grant continues his thought leadership in his role as Managing Editor of the American Bar Association Litigation Section’s Litigation News, a quarterly publication that reaches the 30,000 members of the ABA’s Litigation Section.
Successfully obtained summary judgment in a federal motor vehicle negligence action involving allegations of punitive damages and negligent hiring. The court dismissed all punitive damages claims against the driver and the company, as well as all direct liability claims against the corporate defendant, significantly narrowing the case to ordinary negligence only.
