Patrick (PJ) Stapleton brings a wealth of experience to his practice, focusing on alcohol beverage law, commercial litigation, professional liability litigation, and general liability. With more than 30 years of background representing restaurants, hotels, wineries, distilleries, breweries and wholesalers, corporations, insurers, and casinos, PJ is well-versed in navigating complex legal matters.

PJ’s legal journey began as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, laying a solid foundation for his career. His extensive experience in alcohol beverage law is particularly notable, with 14 years of service as a member of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. In 2007, Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell appointed PJ as Board Chairman for the Liquor Control Board, a role he held for over four years. He has also chaired the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association and contributed to the National Advisory Board of The Century Council, a group dedicated to combating drunk driving and underage drinking.

In addition to his regulatory and leadership roles, PJ serves as an expert consultant and witness in cases involving alcohol beverage licensing and distribution issues, offering invaluable insights into the application of state and federal statutes. His practice extends to liquor liability and dram shop cases, where he provides strategic guidance and representation.

In 2011, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts honored PJ with the Jefferson Award, underscoring his commitment to excellence and service to the community.
