Stephen Dryden defends corporations, businesses of all sizes, and insurance companies in general liability litigation matters.
Stephen practices in all aspects of civil litigation, arbitration, mediation, and jury trials along with handling appellate cases. His clients include national car rental companies, restaurant chains, big box stores, and retail drug stores. In his practice, he represents the interests of major motor vehicle insurance carriers and two of the major national rental car companies for motor vehicle-related claims within the state of Delaware. He is trusted equally by large corporations and by local businesses to provide comprehensive and effective representation in their Delaware claims.
As an experienced litigator, Stephen is admitted before courts at every level of the state and federal systems. He has litigated matters before the Delaware Superior Court, the Delaware Supreme Court, United States District Court for the District of Delaware, the United States District for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He is also admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Before joining Weber Gallagher, Stephen ran his own litigation firm in New Castle. He has extensive multi-district litigation experience, including as defense litigation counsel in both Ephedra MDL proceedings and the Vioxx MDL proceedings. He was also involved in representing the retail drug concerns in the Baycol litigation in Nevada and the Zicam litigation in Arizona. He additionally was involved in providing representation to a national pharmacy with respect to the California coordinated Quinine litigation.
For more than 25 years, Stephen has received Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating of DistinguishedSM meaning a “Very High Rating in Both Legal Ability & Ethical Standards.” He was also named in the 2025 and 2026 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants.
Received the Grant of a Motion for Summary Judgment for a client in an exterior trip and fall claim. The reviewing Court adopted the lack of duty argument.
