Pro Bono Spotlight: Cheryl Binosa and Peter Espey

Written by Lawrence “Skip” Persick, Partner & Pro Bono Leader

This month’s Weber Gallagher Pro Bono Spotlight features Cheryl Binosa and Peter Espey of the firm’s Bedminster, New Jersey Office. Cheryl and Peter are dedicated to pro bono service to military personnel in their area. Both volunteer with the United States Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Program (ESGR).

Cheryl and Peter are ESGR Ombudsmen who serve as neutrals to assist in workplace disputes relating to military obligations. They act as mediators between service members in the National Guard and Reserve and their employers by providing information on how the USERRA (United States Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act) applies to the specific issues in dispute. To quote Cheryl, “It is an honor to be able to assist service members who have dedicated themselves to serve this country. Peter and I also love that this work allows the flexibility to take on cases whenever our schedules allow.”

Thank you Cheryl and Peter! Weber Gallagher and your northern New Jersey community appreciate your efforts.
