Speaker, “Beyond the Break: Rethinking Personal Comfort in WC Cases,” Inn of Court CLE and Dinner, Philadelphia

DATE: Thursday, October 29

TIME: 6:00 p.m.

Royal Boucherie, 52 S. Second St., Philadelphia, PA 19106 — Private Parlour Room

Partner David Greene will join Judge Manager Todd Seelig and Al Carlson of Martin Law for a discussion examining the impact of the Commonwealth Court’s recent decision in Giant Eagle, Inc. v. Baker (Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board). Building on a debate first presented at the Hershey Fall Section Meeting, the panel will explore whether the ruling expands the personal comfort doctrine and how the doctrine applies in today’s workplace, including remote and teleworking environments. Moderated by Judge Seelig, the session will examine the history of the doctrine, its current application, and the broader implications for employers, employees, and workers’ compensation practitioners. The CLE is at 6 p.m. with dinner starting by 7 p.m.
