Professional Experience:

Ms. Kane specializes in employment law and general civil litigation.  Her practice includes the defense of employers in all types of employment cases, including wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.  Ms. Kane has handled class actions and collective actions, including claims involving failure to pay overtime and improper classification of employees.  In addition to litigation, her employment practice includes providing advice to employers in all areas of employment law to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

In addition to her employment practice, Ms. Kane has extensive experience in litigating general civil matters, including fraud, defamation, products liability, medical malpractice and contract actions.  Ms. Kane also has extensive experience litigating cases involving allegations of improper practices in the sale of life insurance, including allegations of churning, vanishing premium schemes and retirement plan schemes involving both whole life and universal life products.  Ms. Kane was primarily responsible for managing over 70 such cases.  Her litigation experience includes jury and non-jury trials, arbitrations, mediations and all other aspects of litigation, in both state and federal court. 

Prior to joining Weber Gallagher, Ms. Kane was an associate with M.J. Tindall & Associates in Pittsburgh.  Prior to moving to the Pittsburgh area in 2003, Ms. Kane practiced law for seven years in California, where she represented defendants in employment and commercial litigation matters.

Ms. Kane has achieved an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
