Kenneth Sharperson defends national insurance carriers and corporate clients in coverage disputes.

Kenneth serves as national counsel for clients in sophisticated insurance coverage litigation and commercial litigation matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts.  Kenneth has worked with a wide variety of insurance companies on issues related to the duty to defend, bad faith, number of occurrences, allocation and notice and trigger of coverage. He has also handled the defense of claims related to D&O insurance matters, mass tort and environmental issues, media, technology and cyber liability, residual value insurance, financial institution bonds, errors and omissions, employment practices liability insurance, property insurance and professional liability matters.

Kenneth's trial experience stems from, among other cases, the representation of one of the nation's largest automotive companies in a residual value insurance case, which involved pursuing coverage for nine-figure losses on a portfolio of several hundred thousand leased vehicles.  The case culminated in a five-week arbitration hearing, and resulted in a nine-figure settlement just before the end of the trial.  In addition, Kenneth handles reinsurance matters on behalf of a well-known foreign insurer.

Kenneth has written papers and given presentations on numerous insurance coverage issues.  He handles the defense of claims in a manner that preserves or improves the insurer's relationship with its insured, especially where liability and coverage are relatively clear in the underlying claim.

In his practice, Kenneth also handles general liability and premise liability matters.

Kenneth is Chairman of Weber Gallagher’s Diversity Committee and Editor of the firm's Diversity Matters newsletter.
